    Reference electrodes are used when the pH electrode and reference electrode are installed separately. This arrangement is particularly beneficial in applications where the pH electrode requires more frequent replacement, helping to reduce operating costs while maintaining measurement reliability.

    Reference electrodes

    Reference electrodes provide a stable reference potential for pH measurement systems with separate sensor installation. Depending on the application, different shaft materials, electrolytes and junction designs are available.

    The reference electrodes feature an Ag/AgCl reference system and are available with screw plug heads or fixed cables, providing solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.

    The following models are designed for installation with separate pH electrodes:

    • B 1491 HD – glass shaft, ceramic junction, KCl 3 mol/l electrolyte, length 170 mm, +5...+135 °C
    • B 1181 HD – glass shaft, ceramic junction, paste electrolyte, length 120 mm, -5...+50 °C
    • B 1881 HDPVDF shaft, PVDF junction, paste electrolyte, length 120 mm, -5...+100 °C
    • B 1981 HD – glass shaft, Silamid® reference system, KPG annular gap junction, Referid® electrolyte, length 120 mm, -5...+100 °C

    Reference electrodes with fixed cable

    The following models feature a glass shaft, ceramic junction and 5 m fixed cable with free cable end:

    • 9828/95 – KCl 3 mol/l electrolyte, refill tube, length 120 mm, +5...+135 °C
    • 9801/85 – paste electrolyte, flange cap, length 120 mm, -5...+50 °C
