    Anaerobic digestion tests and biogas determination with digital documentation

    The OxiTop®-IDS AN is a respirometric measurement system from WTW® that was specifically developed for anaerobic measurement operations. It is used to determine the specific biogas yield of organic substrates and to analyze the biodegradability of organic materials under anaerobic conditions—for example, when characterizing digested sludge, biomass, or substrates for biogas plants.

    The OxiTop®-IDS/B measuring head features an extended pressure range up to 1.5 bar and an H2S-resistant pressure sensor. The latter is crucial for reliable measurement in biogas environments, as hydrogen sulfide (H2S)—a typical byproduct of anaerobic digestion—can corrode conventional sensors and produce distorted readings.

    Data is transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth® LE to a MultiLine® IDS analyzer for automatic evaluation and electronic documentation.

    For simple measurements without a PC connection, the measuring heads can also be operated independently; measured values are displayed directly on the LCD graphic display and stored in the internal memory (360 measurement points per head).

    Note on system requirements: For the full range of functions, including PC documentation and automatic evaluation, a MultiLine® 3620 IDS Set WL (Part No.: 2FD56W) or MultiLine® 3630 IDS Set WL (Part No.: 2FD57W) is required, which must be ordered separately.

    Who is this system suitable for?

    The system is specifically designed for anaerobic measurement processes: biogas determination, analysis of the specific biogas yield of organic substrates, and the determination of biodegradability under anaerobic conditions. It can also be used for aerobic measurements, but is primarily optimized for anaerobic operation.
