Hastelloy® temperature sensor for ADP400 and ADP600-XPC polarimeters used with aggressive, highly acidic samples and/or solvents that corrode stainless steel.
ADP400 and ADP600-XPC Series polarimeters are fitted with a stainless-steel temperature sensor that may be applied directly to the sample via the centre filling arm of a polarimeter tube. The sensor is shaped so that it sits in contact with the sample just above the light path of a slightly overfilled tube so that good contact is made between the sensor and sample.
Temperature measurement is not only an important part of GLP reporting, it is also part of the instrument’s “control loop (Xylem’s patented XPC Technology) that provides rapid temperature stabilisation using Peltier devices.
For most applications, the stainless-steel temperature sensor supplied with ADP400 or ADP600-XPC Series instruments is perfectly suitable. However, when measuring the temperature of highly acidic solutions containing, for example, hydrochloric acid (HCl) used as a solvent in the pharmaceutical industry or within chemical manufacturing itself, an alternative temperature sensor that is chemically robust is now available.
Hastelloy® temperature sensor resilient to hydrochloric acid (HCl) and other samples that corrode stainless-steel is now available as a factory-fit optional extra or as an approved service centre add-on for existing customers.
